Woah

Check this trailer out I've never seen anything like this... heres the link:

http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/09/30/metropia-movie-trailer/

Here's my personal content post.

Following the lead of our comrade who posted work he had done a couple pages back, I decided to toss up my demo reel. It would be awesome if each of you did the same, I would love to see your work!

It's kind of a lengthy reel since I put it together for the study abroad application, and my host institution requested three to five minutes of animation.

Has a lot of room for improvement but I figure it can only get better from here on out!

Don't let this happen to you

List of Animation Programs and Applications (to make your life easier)

Hope you're not tired of Animation Vids :P

This one got into the SIGGRAPH Animation Festival. It looks fantastic in HD blown up. The character (emotion, design) is really great and they played around voices and sounds (p.s. watch the cup on the desk :P)

Also if you've never seen Dead Fantasy (a fan made combination of Dead or Alive and Final Fantasy) definitely check it out. They're actually up to 5 now! Make sure you find it in HD on gametrailers.

And... For those of you who like action figures, Batman, breakdancing, and stop motion :P This is from the Bboy Joker interactive game on youtube. If you get a chance, feel free to play that too! The behind the scenes clips below is really cool though

You control it... WITH YOUR MIND

Interesting Animations

Here are some things you should watch:

An awesome fight scene from an interesting Korean movie Aachi and Ssipak.

An awesome old German commercial for Underberg; a 'digestif bitter' that succesfully creates an eerie environment.

Something ridiculous and funny that someone posted in my forums.

Alarm: Animation from Mesai

Here everyone, just thought I would share this. It got AMAZING visuals and timing :)

...and this a review from motionographer.com you can chose to read it before you watch or afterwards: http://motionographer.com/2009/07/14/mesai-alarm/

It was created by a team that goes by the name Mesai from Korea http://www.mesai.co.kr/ (unfortunately I can't find anyway of translating the site into english) but there's a really great image gallery and introduction for Alarm has some behind the scenes photos of the models!

Welcome!

Welcome to Jamy's Children, where animation students from the Maryland Institute College of Art share their inspirations, ideas, thoughts, and partial insanity. More specifically the students of Jamy Sheridan's wednesday morning Junior Animation Seminar class. In between his long rants, which can range from extremely inspirational to extremely dejecting, the students have time to do things like... create blogs!

There are somewhere between 15-20 of us, and we'll be updating this blog with whatever happens to strike our fancy. Expect lots of animation, obviously, and videos we find interesting, as well as some of our artwork from, and outside of, class.

Enjoy!
